This gun is a rare configuration given the 28" barrels and straight grip. Additionally it has unusual provenance. This gun belonged to David Graem Ommanney. Mr.Ommanney was an East African professional hunter for almost 40 years. He was featured in the 1964 & 1965 Winchester ad campaign as the "Winchester Man in Africa". He was brought to North America by Winchester to hunt from Maine to Alaska, of course, using Winchester and Western products. Included with this gun is a notarized letter from Mr. Ommanney's son documenting ownership, as well as Winchester & Western 1965 catalogues featuring David Ommanney. The provenance is iron clad and certainly adds interest to this well priced Model 21.
