Dismal River Armory arose from Dr. Brent Steffen's keen interest in firearms. A vascular surgeon by profession [now retired], he has been a dyed-in-the-wool gun enthusiast since acquiring his Benjamin .22 pellet rifle at age 6. Growing up in the quail fields of northwest Oklahoma, guns became a passion. This was fueled by many hours as a youth spent in the gun vault of Champlin Firearms with friend and mentor George Caswell.
