Westley Richards, London 12 Gauge Droplock with 28" dovetail lump ejector IC/F barrels with concave game rib with silver front bead. Rib extension third bite. Chambers are 2 3/4" and so proved. Bores are excellent measuring .729 right and left. Choked .009 right and .034 left. Wall thickness .031 on the right and .033 on the left. Reciever retains 98% vivid case colors and has full coverage scroll, Acanthus leaf, and game bird engraving with deeply and intricately carved fences. Double triggers. Straight hand stock with vacant stock shield, checkered side panels, and drop points. Splinter forend with Deeley release. 14 3/4" LOP to a checkered butt with engraved heel and toe clips. DAC- 1 5/8" DAH-2 1/8" Cast off 1/4" Stocked in an outstanding piece of European Walnut, near exhibition, with dark marblecake mineral streak lines.
This is an outstanding gun that appears to have had a complete London refinish including case colors. It appears like new. It is cased in a modern brass cornered leather trunk case with Westley Richards trade label and Westley Richards snap caps. Outstanding game gun weight at 6lb 7oz It is not likely that you will find a nicer Westley Hand Detachable Droplock unless you order it new from the factory.
