.600 Nitro Express double rifle by W&C Scott built in 1916 and Birmingham proved for Cordite 115 and 900 grain bullets. Quarter rib extractor barrels are 24 3/4" with new barrels placed into the original monoblock. Bores are excellent. One standing and one folding rear sight leaves. Receiver has 70% coverage fine English scroll engraving with makers name on both sides. Case colors appear to be original and remain at 60%. Top lever well to the right. Stocked in straight grain English Walnut with Prince of Wales grip and extended bottom tang. Vacant stock oval. Deeley forend release. Both forend and buttstock are solid and without cracks or repairs. LOP is 14 7/8" over a Silver,s pad. Appropriate weight of 14lb 2oz
Pre-War Enlish .600 NE double rifles are rare. This one by a renown maker. It is tight and on face with no primer burn on the breechface and new monoblock barrels. Barrel reblack remains at 98% Original floorplate and trigger guard blue remains at 90% Checkering remains at 95%
It is cased in its original leather trunk case with original trade labels and comes with 48 rounds new unfired Rocky Mountain Cartridge LLC brass and CH dies. It is said that it will shoot inside 2 1/2" at 50 yards with 155 gr. H4831 and 900 gr. bullets at 2000FPS. Ready for Buffalo and Elephant!
