Full custom 6.5x65R RWS by J.J. Perodeau built on a Chapuis Oural top lever break open action with a 23 1/2" barrel with full length rib with quarter rib and barrel mounted sling swivel. Schmidt & Bender 4X scope in custom claw mounts. The reciever is color case hardened with a scolloped frame. This gun features full coverage British scroll engraving including rings by former Purdey engraver Mr. Ron Collings. Stocked in highly figured Turkish Walnut with shadow line pancake cheekpiece with reciever drop points. Deeley forend release with Ebony forend tip. Horn buttplate and grip cap. 14" LOP 6lb 10oz without scope and 7lb 11oz with scope and rings.
This is a fantastic piece that has seen very carefull minimal hunting use. It remains in nearly new condition and cased in an aluminum Americase with dies and brass. The 6.5x65R RWS is a great cartridge introduced by RWS in 1988 with ballistics similar to the .264Winchester Magnum. Mr. Perodeau is widely regarded as the top double rifle gunsmith in this country but is also a master builder trained in the great gunsmithing school of Liege, Belgium. Mr. Collings is considered to be one of the finest engravers now in this country. This work of art could not be replaced at near the asking price.
