Mauser, Oberndorf Type B 30-06 $3895
Oberndorf Mauser Type B factory sportng rifle in 30-06 manufactured in 1926 with 24" step barrel with a hooded island ramp front sight, barrel band sling stud, and island rear sight with one standing leaf. I believe it had folding leaves on either side of the standing leaf but long since removed. Bore is excellent just as it left the banks of the river Neckar. Standard length round top receiver that has never been drilled or tapped. Lever release floorplate and single trigger. This rifle bears the unusual "300 US" caliber marking rather than the standard "7.65 US" marking. Stocked in the Type B pattern with pancake cheekpiece, steel grip cap, and schnabel forend tip. Checkering only on the grip. Stock is solid without cracks or repairs. Weighs in at 7lb 4oz Long LOP of 14 1/2" over a horn Mauser logo buttplate. Just a very nice and collectable example of the finest factory sporting rifle ever made.
