Masquelier 16 Gauge Sidelock $5695
Charles Masquelier, Liege 16 Gauge Sidelock manufactured in 1943 with 27 7/8" F/M dovetail lump ejector barrels with raised matted rib and 2 3/4" chambers proved 16/70. Bores are excellent measuring .672 on the right and .670 on the left. Choked .019R and .027L Barrels retain 97% original rust blue. Bolstered frame with double underlugs and hidden third bite. Bushed strikers. Articulated front trigger. Reciever has 80% coverage well executed rose and scroll engraving extending onto the breech end of the barrels. Original case colors remain at 50% Stocked to the fences in fairly straight grained European Walnut. Not flashy but forend and buttstock completely solid and good for another 72 years. This is a nice pre-war piece from a well respected Belgium maker in very nice condition with great game gun weight and 2 3/4" chambers. The barrels ring like a chime and it is tight and on face. These 16 Gauge sidelocks do not come along every day and from a great gunmaking era.
