Fabulous J.P Sauer 16 gauge sidelock ejector shotgun manufactured in Suhl, Germany in 1931. This gun has 28 1/2" three ring Spezial Gewehr Lauf Stahl Krupp Steel barrels, their best barrel steel reserved for best guns and at extra cost. Chambers are 2 1/2" Raised solid file cut rib. Perfect mirror bores measuring .661 right and .660 left. Choked .013 right [IC] and .023[Imp. Mod] left. Holland & Holland type 9 pin back action sidelock receiver with cocking indicators and hand detachable locks. Internals are gold washed. Receiver with double underlugs and a hidden third bite. The receiver retains 90% case colors and 85% coverage of English type floral and scroll engraving. Double triggers are turned for the right hand with the front articulated. The pistol grip buttstock exhibits strong color and contrast with deeply contrasting dark lines and receiver drop points. Shadow line pancake cheekpiece. Steel grip cap is engraved. This Sauer Model 16-P is an amazing piece in nearly pristine condition showing little to no use. It is a true 1931 time capsule with pre-war Suhl quality. Retailed by Heinrich Munch of Aachen.
