Hoffman Arms Co, Ardmore, Oklahoma .300 Hoffman Magnum built between 1925, after their move from Cleveland to Ardmore, and 1930 when they closed their doors. Built on a 1924-25 Oberndorf Mauser true magnum length Single Square Bridge action with a 24" barrel with banded ramp front sight, banded sling swivel, and integral quarter rib with 3 folding leaf express sights. Excellent bore. Drop box magazine with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Two stage trigger. "Worm track" etching of bolt and ejector. Lyman 48 reciever peep sight relieved into square bridge. Stocked in straight grained English Walnut with shadow line pancake cheekpiece, steel pistol grip cap, and horn forend tip. Point pattern checkering that wraps the forend and is over the top on the pistol grip. Vacant stock oval. 13 3/4" LOP over a 7/8" Silver's pad. 8lb 9oz The .300 Hoffman Magnum is an "improved" .300 H&H with a sharper shoulder angle and a slightly shorter neck. Brass is available from Quality Cartridge and through Midway. This is an excellent piece in a great caliber and built on a true magnum length Mauser action. Overall condition is approximately 97% with a probable old rust reblue. Classic Americana.
