Stephen Heilmann full custom 7x57 built on a surface ground and heat treated 1909 Argentine Mauser action with a 22"Shilen Match Grade half round, half octagon barrel with 1-9 twist and banded swivel stud profiled by Mark Stratton of Lynnwood, WA. Remaining metal work by ACGG member Stephen Heilmann of Grass Valley, CA. Receiver features include custom bases for Gentry rings, three position side swing safety, serrated custom bolt stop, custom sculpted bolt handle, and gold plated Kepplinger single set trigger. Blackburn bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release with border barb wire engraving by ACGG & FEGA member Jesse Kaufman who also did the checkering. The Exhibition English stock blank was purchased from Mr. Heilmann in 2007 for $1350. It was semi-inletted by Donnie Gemes of Show-Me Gunstocks. Final fit and finish by Dave Caboth of Alta, Iowa. The stock is in American Classic style with shadowline cheekpiece, point pattern checkering, inletted two screw rear sling stud, steel grip cap, and ebony forend tip with widows peak. Grip cap screw and action screws are engraved. LOP is 14 1/4" to a checkered steel buttplate. Weighs 7lb 11oz without scope.
This rifle represents the very best by the very best. It is stunning in every respect. The stock has tremendous color and contrast with dark marble cake mineral streaks. It remains new from the makers and is priced well below replacement cost.
