Griffin & Howe .250-3000 built in 1930 on a Kurz Oberndorf Mauser action. 24" Poldi Anti-corro Steel barrel with banded ramp front sight with gold bead, integral quarter rib, and two folding leaf express rear sight. Built on the coveted Kurz Mauser action with Lyman 48 reciever peep sight and lever release floorplate with gold inlayed monogram. Two panel bolt knob checkering with jeweled bolt and extractor. Stocked in Circassian Walnut with steel pistol grip cap, horn forend tip, and point pattern checkering. Typical Griffin & Howe pre-war shadow line cheekpiece. Vacant stock oval. 13 3/4" LOP to a Silver's pad. 8lb 7oz
This is an outstanding G&H rifle in a great caliber and on the Kurz Mauser action of which only approximately 7,000 were manufactured in the Oberndorf Mauser factory before it was dismantled by the Allies at the end of the war. This is a rare piece with approximately 97% original blue and 85% original stock finish. An American treasure.
