Griffin & Howe Pre-War .416 Rigby SOLD! Outstanding Pre-War Griffin & Howe in .416 Rigby. 26" Poldi Anticorro barrel with integral quarter rib with one standing and three folding leaves all with gold inlay center line. Banded ramp front sight and banded sling swivel stud. Bore is as new. Single square bridge magnum length Mauser action with 1931 Mauser serial number date. Matted rear square bridge and front reciever ring. All steel Griffin & Howe sidemount with 1" steel rings carrying a Leupold 3X scope with duplex reticle. Buehler safety. Jeweled bolt and extractor. Drop box magazine with trigger bow release. Pistol grip buttstock of straight grained English Walnut with pancake cheekpiece, steel grip cap, and horn forend tip. Point pattern checkering that wraps the forend and is up and over on the grip. Engraved crossbolt and grip cap screw. Oval stock shield monogramed "DHP" 13 3/4" LOP to a Silver's pad. 10lb 11oz as scoped. The .416 Rigby was developed in 1911 with Rigby selling their first in 1912. They made less than 200 before World War II. I don't know how many .416 Rigby's were made pre-war by Griffin & Howe but certainly only a handful. A late 1930's gun which is the best era of G&H gunmaking. This is an outstanding gun to either collect or use. It remains in excellent condition.
