Fabbrica Armi Mario Abbiatico & Remo Salvinelli [FAMARS], Gardone Val Trompia, Brescia, Italy, Jorema Model 28 gauge sidelock game gun built in 1984 with 70cm. [27 1/2"] F/M vent rib ejector barrels. Bores are as new measuring .557 top and bottom. Choked .027 top and .012 bottom. Chambers are 2 3/4". Single trigger coin finished sidelock reciever features fabulous full coverage deep relief Acanthus leaf and floral engraving and game scene Bulino engraving signed by the late Angelo Galeazzi, the Father of modern day Bulino engraving. The engraving features partridge on the left side lock, a covey rise of bobwhite on the right sidelock, and woodcock on the floorplate. The trigger guard has a rolled edge on the right with the original owners initials, JEB, engraved. Stocked in near exhibition Italian Walnut with excellent color and contrast. Straight grip stock with drop points and a long 16 3/8" LOP to a checkered butt. DAC 1 1/4" DAH 2" Cast off 7/16" Weighs in at 5lb 14 oz. It is cased in its factory leather trunk case with trade label and a full complement of accessories to include three piece cleaning rod with mop, brush, and jag, oil bottle, snap caps, key, and spare strikers and main springs.
This is an absolute best gun in every respect and engraved by a renown and highly respected engraver whose talents will never be applied again as Mr. Galeazzi passed in 2012. It has a long LOP but easily shortened. The first name of the craftsmen who built this gun are engraved on the barrel lug, Dante, Mario[Abbiatico}, Poli, Remo[Salvinelli], and Tony. It has been carefully hunted. Barrel blue remains at 99%. Stock finish has scattered mild and superficial dents and dings from carefull field use. It is 100% machanically. This is a true heritage piece that will bring joy and pride of ownership to multiple generations.
