Winston Elrod, Chesaning, MI, full custom Mauser in 30-06 with metalsmithing by ACGG member Nick Hughes, Nowata, OK. Action is a 1909 DWM action surface ground to remove front ring markings. DWM markings remain on left siderail. Barreled with a 24" all integral feature Sunny Hill barrel with integral front sight ramp, banded sling stud, and quarter rib. One standing and one folding rear sight leaves which have not been filed in. Receiver with Talley bases, three position side swing safety, Blackburn trigger, and Blackburn bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Bolt release is checkered. Stocked in fairly straight grained English Walnut in the American Classic style with shadowline cheekpiece, ebony forend tip and point pattern checkering that wraps the forend and is up and over on the grip. Biesen checkered steel grip cap and two screw inletted Pachmayr removable sling swivels.
LOP is 13 1/4" over a Decelerator pad. Weighs in at 8lb 6oz without scope or rings.
This is a well done piece that remains new from the makers. Front sights not filed in. Lots of bells and whistles not the least of which is the all integral feature barrel which is rugged and will not fail during hard use. Excellent value here!
