Dawson ZG-47 Mauser 9.3x62 SOLD!
Full custom Mauser in 9.3x62 by Bruce Dawson, West Plains, Missouri built on a Parker-Hale Brno ZG-47 action with a 25" Douglas Premium barrel with an NECG banded ramp front sight, banded sling stud, and island express rear sight with one standing and three folding leaves. The barrel is machined with a step in front of the rear sight and the sight surfaces are stippled to refract sunlight. The ZG-47 receiver is topped with Alaskan Arms quick detach lever release rings [the best on the market] holding a Kahles 3-9x42 scope with duplex reticle. Custom Jerome Glimm bolt handle with three panel teardrop checkering. Blackburn trigger and bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Stocked in a very attractive piece of English Walnut with dark mineral streaks featuring a shadowline pancake cheekpiece and point pattern checkering that wraps the forend. There is an ebony forend tip and a steel pistol grip cap that is color cse hardened and tastefully engraved. LOP is 13 3/4" to a checkered steel buttplate. Weighs in at 9lb 15oz as scoped.
This is a very attractive rifle with some very nice custom features in an outstanding and increasingly popular caliber. It is suitable for all North American game and all but Africa's dangerous game although historically it has accounted for much dangerous game. The double square bridged Brno ZG-47 action is considered by many, myself included, to be the finest Mauser action ever produced, albeit in small numbers. Only approximately 20,000 of these actions were made. This gun remains new from the maker.
