Receiver with three position side swing safety, custom bolt handle, Blackburn drop box bottom metal, and Blackburn trigger. Topped with Talley scope bases. Stocked in near exhibition English Walnut with dark marble cake mineral streaks. Double crossbolted. Pancake shadow line cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, and point pattern checkering with mullered border that wraps the forend and is up and over on the grip. Steel trap pstol grip cap and two screw inletted rear swivel stud. LOP is 13 1/2" over a Silver's pad. Weighs in at 8lb 9oz without scope.
Sterling Davenport, now retired, was an avid hunter and knew how to correctly build a rifle for hunters. He was also a charter member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. This is a splendid piece with lots of eye appeal. It presents as new with the exception of a superficial scratch and minor safe dings behind the rear crossbolt on the left as seen in the last picture. A thoroughbred not a plow horse!
