Champlin Firearms Inc., Enid Oklahoma in .375 Weatherby with a 26" sightless octagon barrel with a Pendleton muzzle brake as seen on many Weatherby rifles. Bore is as new. The proprietary Champlin action features three locking lugs on the bolt and a side safety that locks the firing pin. Bolt knob with one panel checkering. Canjar trigger and trigger bow floorplate release. Topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5x5 scope with duplex reticle. Stocked in a very nice piece of English Walnut by Clayton Nelson when he lived in Enid, Oklahoma stocking rifles in house for Champlins. Biesen checkered steel two screw grip cap and two screw inletted sling eyes. LOP is 14" to a fresh Decelerator pad. Weighs in at 9lb 8oz as scoped.
This piece has obviously never been hunted and remains in new condition with a high polish high luster blue that remains at 100% The original owner's name engraved on the top of the barrel ahead of the forend. The .375 Weatherby is a great cartridge without the notoriously punishing recoil of the .378 Weatherby. Ammunition is readily available but .375 H&H ammo can also be used to fireform cases. It can be loaded to its full potential or downloaded to .375 H&H ballistics. This gun brings back fond memories of my youth growing up in Enid, OK where I spent many hours in the gun vault at Champlin Firearms with my good friend Geaoge Caswell. These custom Champlin rifles are top flight in every respect.
