This is a true Ferlach best gun in every respect. The Borovnik family has been making fine rifles and shotguns in the great gunmaking center of Ferlach since 1848 and continue to do so today. This piece presents as new with the exception of a small spot of blue loss on the left barrel at the muzzle as pictured. It appears to have been fired very little. The quarter rib is engraved "Rust-Chasse-Milhouse" indicating that it was commisioned by the Rust/Milhouse hunting or shooting club, these two cities being close together on either side of the Germany/France border.
This exceptional piece is housed in a leather trunk case with trade label, brass cleaning rod with mop and two brushes. nickel oil bottle, and snap caps. Just an outstanding piece of Austrian craftsmanship!
