This is an extremely nice piece that has every appearance of being a George Beitzinger gun. I believe that it is but can't say with absolute certainty. Mr. Beitzinger was a gunmaker with the firm of Griffin & Howe for many years before opening his own shop in Queens, New York. He is now retired. The quarter rib style and cheekpiece and forend contour of this gun have strong G&H influence typical of Beitzinger guns. It is a very well done piece with many nice custom features. Blue remains at 98-99% Stock has mild scattered blemishes from carefull use. It appears to have been hunted very little if at all. Excellent value. The maker not known with certainty and priced accordingly.
