Mauser Custom .308 Winchester SOLD!
Full custom large ring Mauser in .308 Winchester with a 21 1/2" light weight sightless barrel with as new bore. Action has been surface ground to remove all markings. Receiver features three panel tear drop bolt knob checkering, checkered bolt release, two position side swing safety, custom bases for Talley rings, Dayton Traister MK II fully adjustable trigger, and custom bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Stocked in a gorgeous piece of dark English Walnut with extensive fiddleback figure. Shadow line cheekpiece, well executed 26 LPI point pattern checkering, smooth steel buttplate with widow's peak, and two screw inletted sling studs on pedestals. The ebony forend tip is sculpted at the barrel with a widow's peak. Weight of 7lb 1oz without scope. LOP is 14"
This piece is unattributed but shows a very high level of workmanship with many bells and whistles. My best guess is that it was done by Clayton Nelson as many of the fine details suggest this to be his work. It remains in nearly new condition and I'm quite sure has never been hunted. A nice lightweight mountain type rifle to carry all day in an excellent cartridge. Excellent value.
