Winchester Model 61 .22 Short manufactured in 1948 with the rare 24" round barrel with an excellent bore. All original and correct. Large 17 groove forend. Overall condition is 96-97% with slight blue loss on sharp edges and minimal stock handling marks. The late Charles H. Key of Sublette, KS, author of The Model 61 Winchester, told me that the round barrel Model 61 in .22 Short is the rarest of the Model 61 configurations. There are some lettering variations that are more uncommon but not other configurations. A very desirable collector piece and much more uncommon than the octagon barrel configuration.
