Kimber 89 BGR Super America Deluxe .300 Win Mag SOLD!
Kimber of Oregon, Clackamas, Model 89 BGR in .300 Winchester Magnum. 24" barrel with hooded ramp front sight and nicely sculpted quarter rib with one standing and one folding leaf rear sight. Kimber proprietary double square bridge Mauser action with 1" Kimber/ Len Brownell lever release rings. Three position side swing safety. The bolt and follower are finely jeweled with 4 panel bolt knob checkering and a rosette engraved tip. Fully adjustable trigger. Bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Stocked in a very nice piece of California English Walnut in American Classic style with a shadowline cheekpiece, point pattern checkering that wraps the forend, two screw inletted sling studs, and a steel grip cap.
13 1/2" LOP to a factory red rubber pad. 8lb 6oz
The Kimber BGR was only produced from 1988 until the companies demise in 1991 with fewer than 5000 produced. This is the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles and the only one that I have seen with bolt knob checkering and engraving. It is in nearly new condition with very slight handleing marks. Appears to be test fired only. I think that the Kimber BGR has been a very under appreciated semi-custom rifle with many outstanding features that exceed the Dakota rifles. I particularly like their DSB Mauser action. This one is exceptionally nice.
