Clayton Nelson G.33/40 .280 Remington SOLD!
Full custom G.33/40 in .280 Remington by Clayton Nelson with a 21 1/2" barrel with an island ramp front sight. This gun has many custom features including custom bases with a flip up emergency rear sight built into the front base, custom rings, two panel tear drop bolt knob checkering, and a two position side swing safety. Topped with a brand new Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x 10 scope with duplex which I installed. Jeweled bolt and fully adjustable trigger. Stocked in an extremely nice piece of English Walnut with darkly contrasting mineral streaks. Point pattern checkering with mullered borders. Pancake cheekpiece with shadow line. Steel pistol grip cap. Two screw inletted sling swivel studs with hidden screws mounted on pedestals fore and aft. Unique sculpted ebony forend tip with widow's peak. Weight of 8lb 1oz as scoped. LOP is 13 1/2" to a trap Biesen buttplate containg Allen wrenches for scope removal.
This is a highly customized piece by one of America's iconic custom gunmakers. Mr. Nelson was an instructor at the Trinidad, CO gunsmithing school for many years and always an innovator. The G.33/40 small ring actions with lightning cuts on the side rails are highly desirable. This gun remains in very good condition with minor stock dings from careful hunting use.
